In response to last week’s post, a friend reached out with some very valid questions:

  1. How come you didn't get discouraged after he [Sexter] avoided the date so many times?

    1. I was definitely discouraged, and also suspicious. However, I also believed him when he told me that it was mostly because he was exhausted at the end of every day/week due to a commute that has him driving over an hour each way (which sounds fucking awful). I had also peppered him with a lot of questions and discovered that he’s a fellow introvert, which made it even more understandable that he needs a lot of alone time to recharge (which he doesn’t easily come by because he lives with his best friend). Basically, he had really good excuses, and I was choosing to be graciously understanding.

  2. Also how come you didn't drop him when he said he didn't want to leave the house / or didn't confirm the movie date until the last hour...? Maybe it's an old school European in me but I personally would feel that's disrespectful and not worth my time, but you're making me feel like maybe I'm wrong?
